Zoom Balls

Herbal Zoom Balls to keep you zooming along…

It is important to have quick and easy snacks available when you are busy and also want to feel good in your own body.

Here is an easy and simple recipe that combines the support of herbal medicine and nutrient density of quality foods into one powerful delicious zoom ball!

This recipe has been adjusted from Rosemary Gladstar’s famous ZOOM BALLS.

This recipe makes 16 balls of zoom. Eat 1-2 daily!

INGREDIENTS

1 cup Nut butter (tahini, cashew, almond, peanut butter) I love using mostly tahini with a little of whatever else I have in the fridge that day

A note on tahini:

  • Tahini is full of some amazing nutrition! It contains manganese, thiamin and B6 which are key for energy production of the body.

  • It is also packed with anti-oxidants and can help protect the body from free radical damage!

  • Sesame seeds and their extracts have been shown to be anti-inflammatory.

  • You will also find the minerals zinc and calcium in tahini. Minerals are absolutely essential for the proper functioning of the body!

  • Vitamin A and E are in sesame seeds and are great for the immune system, the gut and the skin!

1/2 cup RAW Honey *masks the flavor of bitter herbs

  • You want raw unprocessed honey to ensure you are getting all nutrients, antioxidants, enzymes and phytonutrients that are in raw honey.

1/2 cup to 1 cup of powdered eleuthero, ashwaganda, rhodiola, maca

  • You can use any powdered herb. Make a formula for what you need!

  • Yes, you can do it without specific measurements! Trust yourself! :) I believe in you!

A note on Adaptogens

  • Herbs that rejuvenate and nourish the system

  • Help your body to adapt to modern day stressors

  • This is what makes these balls Zoom balls. They will help you keep on zooming!

  • *You can ORDER from Mountain Rose Herbs in the USA and Mud Brick Cottage in AUSTRALIA.

1/4 teaspoon nutmeg, ginger, cardamom for additional flavor (OPTIONAL)

INSTRUCTIONS

  1. In a large to medium size bowl, mix the honey, tahini and nut butter

  2. Stir together. It should be sweeter than you want it to be....The bitter plants will bring down the sweetness. The honey is the carrier for these strong tasting plants!

  3. Mix your adaptogens into the nut butter & honey mix. You will add more than you think (1/2 cup - 1 cup powder). Just keep smooshing together with your hands

  4. Add your choice of unsweetened shredded coconut, dark chocolate chips, goji berries, and/or chopped walnuts, almonds or macadamia nuts.

  5. Thicken the mixture with the unsweetened cacao or cocoa powder and roll into balls.

  6. Place in a tightly sealed container in the fridge.

  7. Coat and roll with cacao, hemp seeds and shredded coconut.

  8. If you are going to an event put on a plate with rose petals.
